Therapy for Anxiety and Panic in Men
Jeffrey Tower is a certified bilingual psychotherapist who works with adult men living with persistent anxiety, worry or panic attacks. Therapy may draw on CBT, carefully planned exposure work when it is clinically appropriate, ACT, DBT regulation skills, Schema Therapy and dynamic/psychodynamic understanding, chosen according to the individual rather than applied as a fixed package. Sessions take place in English or Hebrew, in person in Modi'in, Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, or online across Israel and with appropriate US-based clients. Contact is by WhatsApp.
Anxiety does not look the same in every man, and no description fits everyone. Still, there are patterns that come up often in the room. Some men describe a mind that will not stop scanning: rehearsing conversations, checking messages late at night, planning for problems that have not happened yet. Others notice it mainly in the body — a tight chest, a racing heart, shallow breathing, stomach trouble, or sleep that never quite restores.
Panic can be a different experience again. A wave arrives quickly and intensely, often without an obvious trigger, and it can feel frightening enough that many people wonder whether something is medically wrong. Once it has happened, a second fear can grow alongside the first: the fear of another episode, especially while driving, in a meeting, in a crowded place, or far from home.
If this is an emergency: If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact the local emergency services where you are physically located or go to the nearest emergency department. In Israel, ERAN provides emotional first aid at 1201. In the United States, call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline; call 911 when there is immediate physical danger. Jeffrey Tower Therapy and Jeffrey’s WhatsApp number are not emergency or crisis services and are not continuously monitored.
